Milton and Ardythe Kornstad

Ardythe was born 6/4/1930 on a farm about seven miles from Wausa. She was the fourth child born to David and Marie Greenwall. Ardythe had no recollection whtever of her father as he died of cancer when she was just one and a half years old.

Ardythe attended District 110 East country school. All eight grades were taught in that one-room school. The fun she had on that playground playing "Twenty-One Scadoodle" will always be a cherished memory! Ardythe's high school days at WHS were filled with many activities as well as much study. Her teachers were some of the finest--two stand out in particular--Harry Hegstrom for Algebra and Viola Mogck for Latin. During her high school days, Ardythe worked Saturdays and summers at Anderson's Store. In May, 1947, she graduated from WHS and shortly after that moved to San Francisco, CA, where whe and her sister, Eva Mae, worked for several months. They moved to Medford, OR, in the fall of 1947. This is where Ardythe met Milt Kornstad and they were married on 7/29/1950 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford.

Ardythe and Milt have three children: Vern, Pamela and Judy. Vern, his wife, Jan, and their three children, Reid, Wende and Angie, now live in Alaska. Pam (Mann), her husband, Dave, and children, Brian, Kathy, Kara and Travis, now live in Pendleton, OR. Judy (Hagler), and her husband, Jeff, and children, Lindsay and John, now live in Selah, WA.

After living in Medford, OR, the first ten and a half years of their married life, Ardythe and Milt moved to Yreka, CA; from there to Eugene, OR in 1964; from there to Pendelton, OR, in 1975; and last to Yakima, WA, in 1980 where they presently reside. Milt has worked for the Pacific Power & Light Company for 33 years and Ardythe worked for Halverson & Applegate Law Firm. Both are retired.
